35 Years....35 YEARS....

Well, it's our 35th wedding anniversary. I told my Grandma Ethel and she reminded me she was married 72  years. (I guess it's a competition! Good for her!) Anyway... it was sort of uneventful. Like most days in a marriage. It's a Monday. Starts out sunny, clouds up and clears again... sort of like a marriage. We had dinner late last week, so actually Mr. D. forgot and thought it already happened. Hmmmm.

Well, it was like anyother day until I went to check out the upgrade on my cell phone. The little gal thought it would be great if I made the new I Phone an anniversary gift for both of us. I agreed. Great for her... I am sure. Hopefully, great for us.

Well, later on we went to eat tonight at Ciatte's. A local Italian joint and discussed our 35  years over gluten free Italian and plain old speghetti and meatballs.

Well, Mr. D's memory was sadly our worst day ever. We both remember in horror and I assured him I don't consider that day being significant at all anymore. It's the past. Over. Done. That's how worst day's need to be dealt with. Buried deep... Not in the picture. Just a bad memory. So I think that will no longer be in discussions of our days together.

We talked about the good in our 35 years. The Hanson's and the warmth of that family. How they always loved me as their daughter and well... I guess they liked Mr. D, too! Our wonderful daughters and how blessed we are that each one grew to be lovely women, wives and moms. Their choice of husbands and fathers for the most part wasn't bad either by the looks of our grandchildren. Seriously... those babies are really way above average. Then there are the Skalicky's and all those involved...some of the contentions there...but the good as well. Lots of good, bad...give...take...and then, there were the dresses... seriously, what was I thinking? I am so happy that my sisters were tolerant about the hats and the dresses. I apologize...you were so gracious to put up with the dresses and hats. I guess they speak for themselves. I appreciate the graciousness and toast all the bridesmaids out there who sacrificially wear hideous clothing in honor of a friend or sister/relative on their wedding day. Lord... I actually saved them. Not sure why...but if any of you want them for any reason...whatsoever... they are yours.

never give away those bridesmaid dresses or dad's gigantic green faux suede bow tie! Your wedding was classic 70's gear that should be cherished. At least your wedding dress and veil were gorgeous.
