The trip to MN and Of course I left my dress in Missouri

Who does this happen to?

Me. I bought a very lovely, and sexy dress (cheap, but cute at TJ Maxx) that I intended to wear to the Eric Clapton concert and lovely night out my hubby that he planned for his baby cakes. (me)

Well, I left it on a pile apparently, after a very bad packing job as I left MO with Ava and Shammai for Minnesota. I thought I was well organized, stripped the bedding, showered, made coffee... went for breakfast...all was in the truck, kids, suitcases...coloring books and colors...extra snacks.

Yes. I'm pissed. Called a few hours ago and yes... I left the dress on a heep at the Stewarts.

Good thing I bought another lovely, sexy top to wear for the concert. Damnit.


Anyway...I decide to take the scenic route. I really couldn't drive 35W once more.
So, I took Hwy 71 through Spencer Iowa and up through Lake Okiboji to a lovely amusement park in Northern Iowa. It happens to be the same spot I went on my senior trip upon graduating from high school. We went on the Ferris Wheel, the kids did the roller coaster and Ava was delighted beyond belief... A nice man took our photo and gave Ava a free ride. All of this was quite exilerating for a youngster... they did the swing and the merry go round too... and then the roller coaster... it was really a fun ride and Ava was exhilerated.


It was fun. We finished up with a Bud Select and two ice cream cones vhat melted readily in the humidity and heat... but we were on the lake, Lake Okiboji... We had 3.5 more hours left and that didn't please me.


The drive, even with lovely diversions, including stop for false poop alarm from Ava in Jackson MN Super America... it sucks.


I am still uptight and its 12:30 p.m. I have to get up to drive Ava to Mpls to Grandma Gwen...while we enjoy Eric. I hope I don't forget the tix. !!! Will lay them out now and set my alarm. Sigh. It's 1 a.m. I have to paint my nails. Find the tickets for Clapton. Go to bed. Sigh.
