April Fools

I've came back to Minnesota on April Fools Day.

On the way home, near my house I saw 30 lovely Sand Cranes in a corn field wondering what the hell is so funny about all this snow and ice on the first day of April.

Since I arrived, it feels like one sick joke. The weather has not been over 40 and I navigated through snow and ice with the SUV in 4 wheel drive in and out of my driveway for two days.... sigh.
I spun into a deep depression on day one. I had lots to do with very little to show for it, very little positive results...and did I mention I was alone at home, no Cowboy to ride, no King to cuddle...no horse in the pasture, not even a possum in the garage to fear. It certainly feels as if my life is somewhere else. So it's hard to get out of the pit.

Well... I am getting better. I went out with Teresa Thursday, met people for lunch, got out as much as possible. That helps the feelings of isolation. And... best of all...Linda came over Friday and we had a great time. We went to dinner, nice wine and eats; went to buy some microwave chocolate brownie delights and two movies; Spy Games and Match Point. We came home microwaved our chocolate treats, watched Match Point AND a few Greys Anatomy episodes...yes...we stayed up until 1 a.m. We finally gave in and went to bed. Linda to her retreat in the lower level that I regret never adding a whirlpool bathtub...just for her.

The next morning, Linda let me sleep in until 10. I made her breakfast, great hodge podge thrown together blueberry muffins that actually turned out, eggs and the ham the Snowmobile Club hand delivered that very morning. The muffins turned out, but don' task me to repeat them.

Well, it's Saturday night and I had every intention of going to work out. That didn't happen. I made a call to Emily, Cowboy and well ... here I am alone again. But Robert Cray is serinading me on the Eric Clapton Crossroads CD, and I'm getting sleeping and relaxed. So, life is good. God is still in the heavens...in spite of what we hear on Fox news.
