Travels West

This is my update on my travels to Arizona, via Missouri, via Colorado... I love the drive. It's even better when I am alone. Don't know why, but I get to view the vastness of the prairies and mountains in solitude. The grasses, the snow capped mountains really provide a sense that all is well with the world.

Grandparents Day with Gabe: I dropped Shammai off at one of Lasha and Joe's friends house and went to Gabe's school. It was a morning of great fellowship with other grandparents... The kids entertained us and we all ate well... then we went home.

Shammai and Gabe played and we made sre they alternated between intense computer games and outdoor romping... they obliged.

I had a great time with Ava, Gabe and Shammai... they are great cousins.

Visit with Mother Earth:

Lisa DeJong and her husband Neal invited me to stay the night on my travels to AZ. Lisa is Mother Earth. She always has been. She actually buys green coffee beans from Costa Rica and roasts them upon demand. She has a air popper, loads up a batch and roasts the green delights.

I drove about 83 all the way, until a very nice trooper in Arizona pulled me over and kindly reminded me that the speed limite is 75...ma'am. Yes. I finally got a warning, not a ticket. So, it slowed me down a bit, but I think I made pretty good time. It's just a long drive...no matter how you shake it.

Enjoying AZ... meeting people. The owl is gone out of the tree now though. I think he doesn't like me joining him outside on the balcony.

Sound like you had a good trip. It is always fun to see the kids play with each other. I look forward to when they come over this summer. lisa works very hard to get a good cup of coffee. I would think twice about asking her tomake another batch seeing how much work she put into the first batch. Good to see her photo of her and her husband.
