Grandparents Day
This is my update on my travels to Arizona, via Missouri, via Colorado... The food I traveled with involved lots of Cheetos, flavored Tea, White Cheddar Popcorn, cashews and interesting sesame seed and honey chips. These were snacked on interminttently.
The Drive: I love the the drive. It's even better when I am alone. Don't know why, but I get to view the vastness of the prairies and mountains. The grasses, the snow capped mountains really provide a sense that all is well with the world.
Missouri: I set out for Missouri, Gabe's Grandparents day at school. I am so excited. I took Shammai with and we drove 8 hours... there were questions about how many minutes in an hour. How many more minutes. How many milnutes in a mile...I had him watch for the green signs and spelled Liberty for him and to tell me how many miles the sign said. When we arrived, King, man's best friend... actually cried when he saw me. I had to mop up the tears with Lasha's shop vac. It was embarrassing for everyone. He's now sitting on the couch next to me. Won't leave my side. It's embarrassing.
Shammai and Gabe played and we made sre they alternated between intense computer games and outdoor romping... they obliged.
I had a great time with Ava, Gabe and Shammai... they are great cousins.
Colorado: Vsit with Mother and Father Earth:
Lisa DeJong and her husband Neal invited me to stay the night on my travels to AZ. Lisa is Mother Earth. She always has been. She actually buys green coffee beans from Costa Rica and roasts them upon demand in a air popcorn popper for 4 and a half minutes. She loads up a batch and roasts the green delights.
I debated on stopping in Cottonwood... but kept going like a demon on wheels. Gas, chips and water... a few bathroom stops.
I made it to our home by 12:30 p.m. or so. I was quite happy to be home.
