Our Baby Had A Baby

Welcome Violet Joy!

Our baby, Adriel Ann, had a baby. She and her husband Joel Fondelspeck are exhausted after working side by side to bring Violet into the world last night. She arrived in great style December 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. after 26 hours of making a stink with her mother. She's 7.4 pounds. Her mother is determined she will have dual citizenship. Blimey.

She is precious, fair haired and fair skinned, has long, thin fingers and she pooped to beat the band her first day while eating like there's no tomorrow. She had 7 doctors and nurses at her beckon call for hours trying to figure her out. She had nurses and attendees waiting on her all night and her mom and dad and maternal Grama jama walking and pacing and breathing, huffing and puffing for hours and hours. Now that's making an appearance! We are glad she's finally here.

While leaving the hospital in Brighton, I was in a fog after sleeping about a half hour on a bean bag in hospital room... I guess socialized medicine doesn't allow expenditures on furnishings such as chairs... but they seem to be able to deliver a baby just fine. Great staff, nurses, attendees doctors and all. In anycase, I got on the wrong bus. I was supposed to take the #1 from the Sussex Regional Hospital which by the way has a wing that's patterned after Noah's Ark, (those Brits!) toward downtown,. It's an easy ride, although I managed to take the #1 going in the exact opposite direction. Of course I did.

Anyway, I made it home... took a two hour nap and took the right bus this time back to the hospital. Adriel slept, I held baby and took a nap. Took the right bus home this time.
