1st Fund Raising Event...

I think it was a success. Everyone but two people came who said they were coming. So we had 26 people in my small kitchen. Three lovely women spoke about their work with the orphans.

I think it went well, I got a donation on the spot, promises of checks in the mail and ideas spurred of ways that would spread the word. I had people suggest including materials in their mailings and other great ideas, a 5K run, and a fashion show fundraiser... all great ideas that make this truly a success for the first event. Planning for the next one is in the works next wek and then for January 2009. The next, February 2009..great connections were made...more to come.
