The Worst Restaurant Ever
Ok. So, Cowboy and I were in the mood for Sushi a few weeks ago. We were in our small town, so there is one Sushi restaurant here and well, we decided to go for it in spite of what we knew. We were aware that they serve their sushi on styrofoam plates, their tea in stryrofoam cups and their wine in plastic wine cups. Also, you have to pay at the counter before the food is served... no doubt they've had runners and I think I know why. But, the worst of it is now they have Mexican Sushi chefs. I know Mexicans and Japanese both have black hair, but the similarities end there. Their food is not anything alike really. Now, Mexicans can learn to make Sushi, as well as me. I have made Sushi and I am Norwegian and Czech. So, ethnicity has nothing to do with it. However, when the corporate culture calls for styrofoam and ahi ahi, tuna or any kind of fresh fish... on styrofoam... and saki in plastic cups, one should be a bit more wary.
Instead of Japanese rice, we were served some kind of watered down sloppy mess that tasted watery, old and stale. I ordered teriyaki salmon. Well, the salmon was slimy, the rice watery and tasteless and the teriyaki was sugar water with corn starch...like they forgot the soy sauce. It was horrendous and a lesson to never never never never never never eat at a sushi restaurant that deliberately and intentionally makes a decision to serve this wonderfully delightful dish on styrofoam plates.
Lesson learned. Never again.
One would think.
Well, tonight we decided to eat Italian at an Italian restaurant that didn't werve Italian dressing on their salads. They had every vineagrette one could dream of. They stopped serving Italian sausage on their speghetti because Olive Garden does... Hmmm. They served martinis as their drink of choice and their shrimp was old, in spite of the fact that the chef tasted that old shit and thought it was fine. Well, I suggested he eat it and pay for it then as it tasted like shit to me. If he thinks it is good, we should have left immediately. Well, I didn't really say that you know, but dang, I ordered Chicken marsala and it was ok.
Ok. So we now have another local restaurant we will never go back to...not a bad thing.

That sux so bad. I mean, we live in a small town, one would think the owners would try to own the market share by serving good food and service to families. They don't and they go under-franchises remain in place. Booo. It is the same in EVRY small suburban city.
We gave them a chance and we lost.
The sushi place is named sukura's or sucker-us. I knew that I would not be back at the Italian place when they answered my first three questions with a no and where proud of it. Do you still have your great Italian dressing-NO, Do you still serve your great spegetti with italian sausage-NO, Do you have your great long pionty bread sticks-NO. Is Cowboy and Jamma ever going to eat there again-No
