Road trip: Driving Solo
I had a nice solo 3-day trip home. There were a few things about the trip that were notable... not to mention the fact that there there are no people left living in Kansas. Some think it's the tornados, but I have another theory. As you can see in the shots from the driver's seat, there are no cars on the road but mine. This was the case all across Kansas. But, there are lots of feedlots. So, my theory is that the cows are slowly but surely eating the humans. It's a slow process, because of their multiple stomachs and the fact that they are vegitarian. Well, now the cows surely outnumber humans in Kansas and well... that's a shame because for the most part they are nice people.
It was all in all a great drive. The roads to taos were winding and mountainous. Lovely city. I did a Lutsen at Michaels in Taos, couldn't wait for their slow service so paid for my coffee and left. I drove north into Colorado which was a long long long road with again, no one on it. But at least the scenery was so beautiful I should have pulled over a few times to admire it. But oh, no. I just kept a drivin'.
Well, then... i crossed into kansas and it was well... more of the same, but no mountains. Not a soul in sight. Once I was low on gas and there were NO Towns to speak of for miles and miles. Of course i panicked... no cell service and no gas and it was getting dark. not good. Well, needless to say, as always, my fears were unfounded. A nice city with a Casey's served my needs. It took me about 15 hours to liberty, I pulled in at about 11 p.m. not bad.
Nice drive for the most part. Spent Mom's day with the Stewarts. What a delight. I watched Joe shower his wife with love from himself and his kids. brings a tear to my eye right now. He's a good dad and husband everyone... Lots of points from the MIL.
Also... note the grand kids and their megga cuteness. They showered Grama Jama with love.
The drive through Iowa was...well... just a blur. I drove fast and hard and made it home by 8:30. I drove in the yard to lots of mail, 18 voice mails, and a whining German Shepherd. pitiful.
i love road trips.

Wow. Great trip as it looks to me. Where these snowy mountain shots in or around Taos,NM? I tend to take the same photos as you but mine always includes my speedometer in the photo. It is always good to see shots of Gabe and AVA. I agree with you about the cow thing in Kansas.
that face of Gabe;s tells you who is boss. my goodness.
your roadtrip sounded like it was fun.
poor humans being eaten by cows...that must be terrifying
Lil' Lasha was with you? ooooh-I can't wait to see all three Lasha's (mom, lasha and ava!)
