Fun With Jan
I am in Arizona for a bit, work related mostly. I had my hair done on Friday at 4 and in my reading while my hair slow baked, I saw that Melissa Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love would be speaking in Mesa. I made my way over hoping it wasn't sold out. I went to the ticket counter and asked if there was any seats for one, he said here is a free ticket. Score! Tickets were $35-$89, so I thought... I was really meant to be here!
I found my seat and a few seconds later I see someone leaping over the other attendees down my row. A man plops down in the seat next to me... (his was an aisle seat by the way... he could have calmly walked up the steps and sat down quietly.) Anyway, we exchanged niceties and I blurted out that I was handed a free ticket. He said, yeah, it was mine. Oh. Thank you. SILENCE. I clutched my purse and leaned far left for two hours. WTH. Did he get stood up? Did he buy two to pick someone up? There were like two men in the whole place. Freaked me out I have to tell you.
Melissa was great in spite of it. So inspirational and funny. So glad I went. I snuck out early and ran to my car... looking over my shoulder all the way.
Grand Funk Railroad: (The American Band) Who you say?
The place in Arizona was swarming with motorcyclists. It apparently was Bike Week here. My high school friend Jean mentioned she and a friend were going to Grand Funk Railroad concert at the motorcycle rally Saturday...would I like to join them? Well, let's see, I could watch TV, spend the night alone listening to sad songs or go party with the bikers. I went to party with the bikers and it was quite entertaining.

Hmmm. That is all I got to say about it.
