12 hours of confinement.
Today was exhausting. Brenda the nanny and I with two children under 3 traveled in the car to Vancouver Wa. from Samammish. At least three hours in the car. Easy peezy you say? I dare you to try it. The drive down was the worst. We started out at 8:15 a.m., just a few minutes late. Had to stop at Safeway for baby food, then finally coffee and we were off... We got an hour in and the children began to get restless, so I pulled off in Lacey at a Mcdonalds with a Playland. An hour later, after everyone had breakfast and a few romps in play land, we were back in the car heading down the freeway. It was about 11 and we had to be there by 11. I called the realtor and told her about our delay and wouldn't you know, she said we had an hour and a half to go...I thought a half hour... so much for that.
We got there and started driving from house to house...the third house was ok, the fourth better. Not sure any felt like home to me. A second look would be nice...but what are the odds of that? If my house sells tomorrow, I will take a second look.
Anyway... what can I say about Vancouver Wa? It looks scrubby in late February, but the mountains surrounding the city are ominous. We got a few glimpses of the white capped beauties. I need to go back again, sans the girls.
Did I mention the girls were perfect? Seriously, what 10 month old and 2 year old would sit six hours in the car? GG was excited at every turn. She is an amazing child. Emirie is too. This time with them has been a total delight.

Hey Jan, my family lives in Vancouver. My father lives a bit out of town near Battleground in the country. Portland is just across the river and really nice - a great outdoorsy city. :-) Mt Hood is amazing on a clear sunny day, or a clear winter day.
self tourture. I am glad to hear you allmade it fine.
