We Aren't In Kansas Anymore.
So, Shammi and I went to Liberty Missouri to see the Stewarts. We drove 8 hours on Wednesday starting out at 1 p.m. or so and arriving at about 9. We had dinner at Terribles in Osceola Missouri (or Iowa) Then another 8 on Saturday. Both ways... a total of 16+. I am exhausted and tense, but I enjoyed myself immensely. I got to know Ava better. She says "Tanks" after you do anything for her, give her her milk, lift her in her chair, put her coat on. It breaks my heart. She's adorable and delightful. "Hey gramma... watch this," then she climbs the stairs like Gabe does. She talks ALL THE TIME. And it's very hard to make out anything, but all the inflections and tones are there, so you know she's saying something important. You should see her brother take care of her. Lasha and Joe have made him into such a good brother... he is that way all on his own too. He goes out of his way to make sure she's watched after and taken care of. They both look after each other actually. Shammai, too. First thing he said when we got there is that he wants to marry Ava. So we will have to watch that, but he just adores her. It's too cute. They all get along so well, not too many spats at all.
I got to see Gabe play football, his dad coach and his baby sister and mom cheer them on. Very heartwarming.
