Trip to KC

As much as I hate to move on from that last hilariously funny blog, I must. You may hear more about the adventures of Bolt and Shot however from time to time. My very own action figures....

I grabbed Shammai for the weekend, last Wednesday and we drove 8 hours to Liberty Missouri to see Joe, Lasha Gabe and Ava...and oh...a very large black man. Shortly after we arrived, Shammai announced he was going to marry Ava. Well alright then...we have some work to do on cultural mores, lest he pull a Grandpa vendell and mary on us.


It was great to see the kids, Gabe and Shammai stayed up talking all night the first night according to Lasha. I got to see Gabe play football on Saturday morning... yup, he's a star. He does quite well and his dad is the coach. So that was fun too. Joe is very intense with the 6 year olds.

Lasha and I had our coffee runs and shopped a bit, we ate out a few nights as a family. Did I mention there was a big black man in the mother in law room when I arrived? He had to go, but he didn't quite go far enough, just on the couch in the man room downstairs... creepy.

But, nonetheless, I had a great time, the drive is long, but it's nice we can make it there in part of a day to see the Stewarts when we want to. I baked my famous pumpkin pie, which as it turned out isn't all that famous in the Stewart home. Oh well. Lasha spoils them with home made goods all the time so that's hard to compete.
A word about Ava: She is such a sweet girl. She says, "tanks" every time you do anything for her, put her coat on, brush her hair..."tanks." She is delightful and is non stop bop. She is constantly moving around, playing hard, interacting...talking loudly..."Mai...Mai..." she calls Shammai. She insists on being in the mix with the rest of the boys... and pushes her way into any situation to mix it up...(Proud to call her mini-me) She is by far the most active of the Stewarts and is an entertaining show of one. Gabe is really a nice boy, too. He is so sweet and helpful with his sister. He likes his school a lot and read to Shammai every night. ! He is so proud to be able to read and Shammai was intrigued. I am proud of all of my grandkids. Their parents are doing such a great job raising good, caring and loving people.
