Because I Can

I can't tell you how much I am enjoying my bike. I drive it to work in hopes of getting away just for an hour of riding mid day and damn wouldn't you know I couldn't get away. Maybe tomorrow. The air is cool, so it's perfect. I know I will be longing for it in the middle of winter.
I took the shiney red and black bike out for lunch yesterday on the country roads. It was so beautiful out. No one was around, I didn't no where I was for a time, which was just fine with me. I drove past a farm with buffalo near our place, had no idea it was there. Fun to discover new things.
I talked with a guy on the phone... a consultant we will hire for some programming stuff. He asked if I rode because I liked the power. I said, no I ride because I like the freedom and because I can.
He then proceeded to tell me he had an accident on his bike and was paralized for a few days. So he doesn't ride anymore. Everyone tries to scare people out of riding. Everyone. Damn. I feel like I have to write "I will be careful" on a blackboard 100 times before I can go out and ride. Anyway. I have taken my bike to work three days in a row. The weather is perfect and yes... I am being careful.
