More About Me
Volunteering: Helping Teach Adults to Read and English As A Second Language
I now am a volunteer at the local Adult Education Center. I help the instructor teach adults to read. These adults are Somali and Vietnamese mostly. The one is retarded I think. He's delightful and loves to participate. I am as it turns out a magnet to special ed people. I used to deliver milk to the special ed kids in another building in gradeschool. I would bring them chocolate milk in a small bottles in a milk crate. Wait till they had their drinks and bring the empty bottles back. All my life, seriously, I have had slow and disabled drawn to me. Not sure what that means. The other illiterate woman I worked with is Somali, really from Egypt she said, and is illiterate in her own language. A greater challenge. There are programs to follow, so we follow the book. Next week is the last class before Summer, then if I like it I will pick it up again in the Fall. I really liked it.
I will also be pounding nails with Habitat Saturday. It should be fun. It feels good to participate in things that help others.
I got an A in my first MBA class Operational Management. What a thrill that was. Somehow I need that affirmation and gratification. Aced my Written paper and last quiz and obviously enough to Ace the class.
I have found a personal/business coach. I really am excited. This will help me answer some of my "what are you going to be when you grow up questions." And also help me Be nicer.
I have my tattoo design and will be sending that off to Ezra for his creative touch.
I also bought my motorcycle today. I read the last of the motorcycle manual and am going to take the permit test next week. My school is June 6-10 and I have to have my permit by then. So, the pressure is on. I will take the permit test Monday or Tuesday. I am letting Dennis drive my new bike home tomorrow. It's a red and black Suzuki... photos will be on their way.
So, my world is filled with new things. I will also be going to San Francisco in June with Emily, Teresa and a few other women to ride Arabians in the Ocean and the Red woods. I am so excited about this trip. It will be so therapeutic.
I will be buying lots of flowers this weekend to plant. Yellow and White are colors for 2007. (hope jada is available.) And I will be baking a rhubarb pie.
Want to come over and have some pie?

Wow mom- sounds like a lot is going on with you lately.. no wonder you are so hard to "get an appointment with"... If you would not have ditched me for out lunch date, I would of probably known all that jazz already. Since I have a comment for every sentence you wrote... I'll spare everyone, but you. When we are gardening... I think my thoughts will just spill out...
