When You See A Falling Star

Friday Dec. 1, 2006 I saw the most long lasting falling star I've ever seen. It looked just like this one. I was driving to Grand Forks to spend time with Grandma Apple. It was about 5 p.m. or so because it was just getting dark and there in front of me, in the sky, even in the light of the headlights, I saw it and did a double take.I thought it was a jet or an airplane. It was beautiful. I watched and waited and it just went on and on. I couldn't believe it was hanging in the sky that long. I immediately thought: "MoneyMoneyMoneyMoneyMoneyoneyMoneyMoneyMoneyMoneyMoney
MoneyMoneyMoneyMoneyMoney MoneyMoneyMoneyMoneyMoney." My mother told us when we were young that if you see a falling star and can say " Money Money Money Money Money " before it disappears you will be a millionaire. So, the one I saw on the way to Grand Forks last night, was at least worth $ 5 million. It was amazing. A true delight.

Grandma Ethel and Frosty:
I had a great time with Grandma. I got in late, we visited for about an hour, way past her bedtime. She turned in, I stayed up, watched some TV, read some and then fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up, she was in her chair waiting quietly for me to get up. I went out for a while to run a few errands, came back and we went for a walk. She had never been on the second floor. She got a bit winded, so we sat and rested then we went back to her room. I left a few hours later, too short of a time. But, I fit in what I can. She looks better than ever. She seems happier too. She's met new friends and knows her way around the place. Nice to see her.
Que Pasa.
For your information, I've had two Spanish tutoring lessons thus far. Yo llamo Juana. Between my podcast lessons and Marta Martinez...my tutor from Columbia, I will at least have done my best to brush up. Marta came in to the house tonight and we spoke Spanish for quite some time. I'm amazed that that what I learned as a girl has stayed in that brain of mine. Now it's activating again...More: Tiennes dos libros o un libro? Teienes una o dos cabezas? Eres fea o quapo? Cuantos cuardernos tienes? All very relevant questions in Peru.
I am sure this next month will be worth while.

Can I ask you a question? Do you pay attention to the road when you are driving?
It seems like you do alot in your car. Since when do listen to what your mother says anyway...
Omg! That is soooo funny, "money, money, money." For reals, it came true. I'm gonna start wishing on stars but I am going to say, "a lot of sex, a lot of sex."

Ooooh! My wish came true last night and I didn't even see a falling star!
It's funny how you wished for money Jan and Nara wished for sex....life does change as we get older doesn't it???
Mary
Mary... not so much really. If I had the presence of mind, I think I would have opted for moneysexmoneysexmoneysexmoneysexmoneysex. Not necessarily in that order.
