The bombs bursting in air... Gave proof through the night... that our flag was still there. Fire works have been the acceptable manner of celebrating since 1777.

It's disturbing that we have a whole generation of Americans who have been taught to be ambiguous about our nation. Schools and colleges now teach that Christopher Columbus and the early settlers (who by the way were seeking freedom from tyranny), were evil for taking land that belonged to Native Americans. Also, that because we are held in contempt by a socialist world because we value Democracy and liberty there's a generation of Americans who feel guilt and shame about those values.
America is not perfect, we have many faults as a nation. But, the basics of our values are the liberty, justice and the pursuit of happiness for all.
The positive side, in spite of this opposition, many are willing to stand up, even die for what they believe.
