Firing the 12 Year Old Neighbor Girl

I fired Rachel Wagner yesterday. I hired her early in the spring to water and feed my flowers every day. Well, then she started not showing up, coming over late in the morning instead of early morning as we agreed. She called one day and said she doesn't want to water flowers on Sunday anymore and her family has plans July 4 so she will come Monday night instead of Tuesday early a.m. as i requested. I told he I didn't probably need her anymore if she couldn't come when I needed her. I asked her to come over and we would talk. The talk went fine as long as Rachel could dictate her terms. I decided I had teenage girls once and that was enough. I told her I would find someone else to water my flowers the way I want them watered. She went home apparently crying. Paul came over to find out what happened, I told him his daughter was disrespectful and obstinate and I love her too much to fight about my flowers. He gave me her hours and that was that.
Don't know that I need to put up with certain things anymore. I still love her. She's a doll, but I won't be treated badly or argue with someone I am paying to do a job. A lesson learned by both of us. My flowers look wonderful and will survive.
