The Countdown
Adriel arrived to a firestorm. Your dad... AKA Cowboy.. gave her a piece of his mind regarding being left out of all the plans...(well if he would be involved...hello!). He apparently had a bad day at work on top of his memory of being left out of Lasha's wedding and it got the best of him. So he let Adriel have it... who just happened to fly in, had a bad cold and told him Joel was going to move in for two weeks. HAHAHAHAHA>AUDEMUA
For your info... after this long I think I have him figured out some. You have to drink more. The key to dealing with your dad takes some real finess, as I explained to Adriel. Actually, the key to reason with your dad is being firm (slug, gulp) and telling him he's full of shi- and this is the way it is going to be because you know it in your heart... (slug, gulp) and then saying, ok, I understand why you are feeling the way you are,(gulp, gulp)but this is the way we are going to do it. Then tell him. And have another drink.(gulp)
Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night thinking how sad it is going to be to say goodbye to our baby. I remembered her as my appendage. She was always at my side and that was so comforting for me. In reality, she's not been our baby per se for years. She's been on her own making her mark in the world. But my heart breaks that she will now belong to another. Joel Fonnesbeck. What the heck.
I will tell you a secret. When Adriel broke up with Joel... or moved on or whatever people do these days, I had a quickening in my Spirit that this young man would be back. I never told a soul, so you can call me a liar if you want..., but I knew he was her man because God told me so. I knew the same way I knew she would make a life in England. She was praying about where to go, God told me she'd be in England. I didn't share it, but when she chose England, I had peace all would be fine. I also knew I would lose her to the Queen Mum. Damn the Brits.
Anywho... She and I took a walk around the yard and planned the placement of people and plants. Your dad saw us with his eagle eye and intervened. He offered a few opinions and ended up walking away mad because he didn't get his way. Well, turned out we gave him his way because it was a better way. The chairs would be set up his way. He actually made sense. So it goes. (gulp).
Adriel and I went to get her approved cold medication from Walgreens. Came home, sat at the pool, had left over Olive Garden, Compliments of Cowboy.
So great having her home... we are going to have a great three weeks saying goodbye and hello.
