The Flip Side: Gabe at Grandma's

Didn't really tell you the whole story about Gabe's stay here. So, now I will. He and Shammai were little play buddies and really enjoyed being together at our place. The one scene in my mind is when both boys had their little shotguns and dinosaurs in their arms in the porch.
Gabe and I cuddled together daily, we read books together, we spend the mornings having breakfast and watching cartoons. I made him pizza rolls for breakfast...he asked for them and they are his favorite meal of all times apparently. He doesn't drink orange juice or apple, but enjoys milk. He drinks a lot of milk, which is good. He's a growing boy.
He likes blue popsicles, but I only had green, red and purple. He chose the purple and green. They got to have as many as they wanted. He liked driving the yellow car. He complained once because apparently Shammai drove the yellow truck into the grass. Not as good a driver as Gabe.
They spent lots of time playing in the rock pile in our driveway. We had a pile of landscape rock hauled in. They were throwing rocks out on the driveway and when I looked outside, the asphalt was sprinkled with granite. They neatly picked them up and put them on the pile when asked. They both came in covered in fine white dust... much more noticable on Shammai's dark skin. They both cleaned up their toys together also when asked and didn't fight hardly at all.
Naps were taken separately and they both took nice long ones. Gabe was up at 7-8, Shammai slept longer. Gabe has a really hard time waking up from naps and in the morning. I find this funny as he lays there with his eyes shut for a very long time. When Shammai slept in I got a chance to sit with Gabe. We colored together and he is a very good colorer. He stays in the lines really well for a 5 year old. Very conscious of being neat. He liked the dinosaurs especially a lot and always had one with him. Gabe ate well, he ordered cheese noodles quite a few times and ate everything on his plate. Gabe and I took a nice fast four wheeler ride, he loves that, and he loves going fast.
So, for a short week together, we did a lot and really enjoyed ourselves.
He seemed a bit lonely at times and really missed his sister Ava and his mom. It was especially fun to see how the boys interact with grandpa dennis. They had a great time together in the tool cat working in the yard. They swam together too and went down the slide all of them taking turns. I swam too with them and we played.
The time with Gabe was a treat, even if I didn't like how I reacted a few times. It was overall a real treat to have him.

Those boys must be having such a good time at the grandparents' house. I would like that exact same experience when I arrive August 8th.
