Memorial Day

In honor of the fallen, I fell.
I went roller blading at 10 a.m. on the Lake Wabegon Trail in St. Joseph. It wasn't but 10 minutes on the trail and my left leg lagged, catapolting me forward on my right hand, left leg and a very classic shoulder roll. I had to check to see if of course anyone saw me... not a soul in sight...phew. Funny how that's the most important thing!
I knew my leg would be skinned bad... and it was. A nice 4 inch round tar burn and a few cuts...
Have to say I haven't roller bladed in 2 years and it was as delightful as I recall. The wide open spaces, the sensation of movement... and now the sensation burning pain of which I will hopefully forget.
The Project
Got the majority of flowers planted, just a few pots let in the back yard. My beds have been beautiful for the past few years... so I know these will be just wonderful too.
Not sure where they will all go, but will decide in next few days.
Shammi spent the day with us again. He likes it here we think.

Are you trying to make us girls upset that you have developed ankles?
Congrats on the sports wound, nicely done. Lets go for some missing appendeges next time so you can get more pats on the back for being athletically active.
Yeah- it really looks like you are showing off you new slim and trim ankles. Which by the way do look very nice- slimmer than the past few years! You eat like a bird. No wonder you are developing tweedy- like bird legs.
