Jumping into the lake

A Random Memory
I recall the sensation of jumping into Middle Spunk Lake from the raft held to the 20 foot bottom with a chain. I held my breath and jumped to a cold fresh water lake, holding my breath... a sensation of ice cold water all over. It was freeing and exhilirating all at once.

Third Place
I entered my first schooling show for beginners. I took two tests, placed 3rd and sixth out of 12 competitors.
I could do this again.

Memorial Weekend...
Flowers and Fun
I worked my fanny off planting flowers in the yard. All salmon pink varieties. One more arduous day and it should be mostly completed and ready to just grow beautifully through the summer till the big day.

I drove the corvette to church where we learned of the crisis in Northern Uganda. What a shaming contrast. Very horrific. http://www.wvi.org/wvi/archives/africa/uganda.htm

Read the timeline on the right in the link.

Over 40 cities across the globe walked in solidarity with thousands of children who trek from their homes every evening to ‘night commuter centres’ in northern Uganda. They leave their homes to escape the possibility of being abducted, maimed or killed by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels. Over 20,000 children have been abducted already; the girls are used as sex slaves and the boys forced to commit atrocities against their own communities and/or relatives. The Gulu district chairperson, Lt Col Walter Ochora was critical of the international community saying that it “has done very little to make sure that this war ends.”

Ok. So this has been going on for 10 years? Why do I just hear about it now? Dad says we can pray. Well... I have a feeling there's been a lot of praying going on. When is praying just not enough?

Now what am I going to do with what I know? I want to hire merceneries and take out the leaders of the rebel forces, but I don't think that fits with the forgiveness theme the pastors were advocating. But, who does that to young children?
Not sure what to do with what I know. Thinking of selling the place, pool, horses, corvette and all and doing something eternal with the rest of my life. Or keeping it all and doing something eternal with the rest of my life.
Just not sure what.

You have a lot to comment on here. So, we will start from the top. Hey:way to go. you are getting good on the horse thing here.Yes this week end was very hot and alot of work. again, way to go. We all did have much fun in the pool this week end. Church was great and made you think and hurt at the same time. I was thinking about killing people during the whole service. and that's not right.

Heavy hearts need to pray more, or they become apathetic or complacent. Thank God you still feel when you hear stories like this. Most people just sat "thank you god that I don't live there and have to deal with this sorta life."

Good God! Stick to the light blogging stories for family. Start another blog for politics and give that address out to your friends. Perhaps your new friend Emily might like reading about worldwide atrocities and stuff...
