I have tasted the world of mediocrity

I don't recall ever being satisfied with not giving my best. But that's just because I have a short memory. Truth be told, I actually was mediocre in classes all through high school. And once again, now while taking a MBA class, I have embraced mediocrity. Not because I want to, but because it's all I have time for.
I got a C on my midterm and am happy. I doubt I will get anything better on my term paper or my other assignments. i will be happy with a C.
Joy of Joys. Average is ok.

Here is how good my mediocre really is. I've been told most recently that I am too hard on myself. I am.

Tonight was my final.. I finished my term paper... With a C on the midterm, a few minutes writing an extra credit paper on the evils of Wal-Mart, I learned I have about 80% for a grade thus far. Think I could actually get an A. Here's why. My professor informed me that my paper, which was assigned to me because I was going to miss two quizzes because I was on VACATION (see previous posts)... has a really great chance of being published. I received 25/25. My professor was tickled to inform me actually. He said, "I don't know if it means anything to your career, but this is a big deal to get published..."
Well, it only does matter to me... not to my career. But personally... it's very inspiring...
Professors and others live to be published. Their expertise matters.
My paper was a case study on what our bank is doing in payment space and how it is a secure way to make electronic payments.

Not too shabby for mediocre. So, it seems my mediocre might just be someone elses's excellent.
I always though I gave far too much and wondered if I could do as well if I didn't stress over stuff so much and put out so much to achieve. Well, this is a lesson learned.

My medicore is someone else's excellence. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Not something I would ever teach the young. But, this is amazing to me.
It's time to stop. Stop being so hard on myself... will keep you posted if I get published.

Ah, write a paper on how evil Walmart is and get published. As simple as 1+1=2. Next class write a paper on how awesome Walmart is and see what happens!
